’27/’37
is a locally owned and influenced publishing group with the intent of
affordably reprinting out-of-print titles with an emphasis on the
history of Blount County, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and
the surrounding areas.
As
our experience increases, we hope to expand our mission to include
helping individuals learn how to affordably and easily self-publish
their own local history or genealogy sources by offering consultations
and workshops.
The name ’27/’37
refers to the year Senator L.D. Tyson assured the residents of Cades
Cove that they would never be forced to move for the creation of the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park (1927) and the year the last Oliver
left Cades Cove (1937).
